Homework
We ask families to support children in reading 5 times a week, practising spellings and multiplication tables. We also share knowledge organises and activities to support using these at home. We do not set any other homework.

Spelling
Spellings are tested weekly and are based on current learning in phonics or spelling lessons. We acknowledge that a weekly spelling test based on words that are not visited again has no impact. We teach spellings in a purposeful way linked to current learning and by using principles of retrieval. Spelling tests are low stakes and mistakes are corrected by adapting teaching.
